Steering Committee
MalERA Steering Committee is composed by 15 independent scientists with demonstrated expertise in malaria and other infectious diseases, and it is led by Dr. Pedro Alonso, director of the Barcelona Centre for International Health Research (CRESIB). The Committee is responsible for leading the consultation process, ensuring information flow and chairing the consultative groups.
The Steering Committee is the driving force behind the development of the R&D agenda, and will be the focal body for decision-making, receipt of information and final writing of the White Paper. Members will chair the consultative meetings and the Stakeholders’ Online Forum and feed back information gained from them to the other members. They will liaise with the International Advisory Committee and with the Leadership Council. This group will be responsible for making key decisions and liaising with the Secretariat to ensure implementation of the R&D agenda building process.
